Kyoto University’s L-INSIGHT International Collaboration Program in Australia brings L-INSIGHT Fellows together with researchers in Australia for presentations and discussions, while also providing opportunities for on-site research and to plant seeds for new connections that may grow into future collaborations.

Through these experiences, Fellows are encouraged to deepen their understanding of how international social issues intersect with research questions—perspectives that can be difficult to explore in depth when working only within Japan’s research culture. The program also supports Fellows in recognising and exploring more multifaceted approaches to research challenges and international engagement with Australia. This year’s program has been co-created through exchanges with the University of New South Wales (UNSW), and in line with these aims, L-INSIGHT Fellows will be joined by researchers from the UNSW Institute for Cyber Security (IFCyber).
