The Denmark–Japan International Workshop was held on January 14, 2026, at the Graduate School of Agriculture, Kyoto University. Following the opening remarks and an introduction to the host laboratory, a special lecture entitled “Enzymatic bioelectrochemistry: from biofuel cell to bioelectrosynthesis” was delivered by Associate Professor Xinxin Xiao. The lecture stimulated active discussions on recent advances and future perspectives in the field of bioelectrochemistry. In the afternoon, invited talks were given in English by students and early-career researchers from the host laboratory, presenting their research on direct electron transfer-type bioelectrode reactions and biosensor applications. In addition, a laboratory tour was carried out, during which participants exchanged views on experimental environments and technical features. Furthermore, in-depth discussions were conducted on specific research methodologies and the potential for future collaborative research. Through this activity, the workshop significantly contributed to enhancing students’ international research communication skills and strengthening sustainable research collaborations with overseas researchers.
